Lund Boats have been in existence for over 60 years. Howard G. Lund rolled out the first aluminum fishing boat in 1948 from his shop in New York Mills, Minnesota. Howard actually designed the boat for duck hunting. To self-promote his proud new watercraft, he actually put it up on top of his car and drove around town as he could not afford to advertise. On one occasion he met up with the sales manager for the Inland Marine Corporation who immediately placed an order with Lund for 50 boats.
